Seattle King County NAACP Announces Upcoming Elections
Encourages NAACP Community Members to Attend and Vote

Seattle, WA--The Seattle King County NAACP announced today that the branch will be holding three general membership meetings to elect officers and at-large members of the Executive Committee. Given our country's current political climate, the work of the NAACP is more important than ever.

The branch encourages all NAACP members living in King County to attend the following meetings at the Seattle King County NAACP office (715 23rd Ave. S, Seattle, WA. 98144) and vote in the upcoming elections:
  • September 26th, 2016 at 6:30pm: Election of the Nominating Committee. All members whose memberships are current as of 30 days prior to the meeting date may be elected to the Nominating Committee.
  • October 24th, 2016 at 6:30pm: Report of the Nominating Committee, receipt of Nominations by Petition, and election of the Election Supervisory Committee. All members whose memberships are current as of April 1st may be nominated for office as an at-large member of the Executive Committee. In order to sign a nominating petition, or be elected to the Election Supervisory Committee, a member must be current as of 30 days prior to the October meeting.
  • November 28th, 2016: Election of officers and at large members of the Executive Committee will take place in lieu of the general membership meeting. Polls will be open from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. In order to vote in a Branch election, one must be a member in good standing of the Branch 30 days prior to the election. A form of identification is required. If you joined through the national office, please bring proof of membership. Voting will take place at the NAACP Office: 715 23rd Ave. S, Seattle.
The Seattle King County NAACP encourages all NAACP members to attend these three important meetings and help share the information with others in the community. These elections will help set the course for the future of our work, and it is imperative that they are representative of the entire community.
