![]() PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 Contact: Rachael DeCruz, communications@seattlekingcountynaacp.org Seattle King County NAACP Members Re-Elect President Gerald Hankerson Officers and Executive Committee Members Were Elected on Nov. 28th Seattle, WA--On November 28th, the Seattle King County NAACP held an election for officers and at large members of the Executive Committee. All NAACP members who were members in good standing at least 30 days prior to the election were eligible to vote. Members overwhelmingly re-elected current President, Gerald Hankerson, to continue to lead the branch. This will be his fourth year as President and his sixth year on the Executive Committee of the Seattle King County NAACP. "Given our current political reality, the NAACP is more important than ever," shared President Hankerson. "I look forward to working closely with our members and organizations that are dedicated to civil rights to safeguard the advances we've worked so hard for, while pushing a bold vision to increase access and opportunity for our community." ### Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest nonpartisan civil rights organization. For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016 Contact: Rachael DeCruz, communications@seattlekingcountynaacp.org Seattle King County NAACP Hosts Election of Officers on Monday, Nov. 28th Encourages NAACP Community Members to Attend and Vote Seattle, WA--On Monday, November 28th, the Seattle King County NAACP will hold an election at their office on 715 23rd Ave. S. All members in good standing of the Seattle King County NAACP who have been members at least 30 days prior to the election are encouraged to attend and vote on officers and at large members of the Executive Committee. Polls will be open from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Members should check-in by the door near the parking lot. Please bring valid identification and your membership card with you; after you've been confirmed as a member, you will receive a ballot so that you can cast your vote. DeCharlene Williams is the Chair of the Election Supervisory Committee.
