I, Hayward Evans, pledge to uphold and advance the NAACP's mission to ensure the political and educational equality for minority groups and citizens to eliminate race prejudice. I, Hayward Evans, will fulfill and enhance the NAACP’s work to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes and develop a long-term sustainable financial system and provide solutions for social inequities.
Hayward, as a seasoned executive, has a long history of working on an array of projects for the NAACP. He is known for his distinguished performance in leadership and program management in the public and private sector with proven skills managing non-profit and international projects from inception to deployment. Hayward has an excellent record of accomplishments in coalition building, budget analysis and the legislative process. Areas of Expertise Include: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, vendors, and customers to promote products and services locally and internationally. * Supervision and Leadership * Extensive knowledge of political systems, economics and financial management. * Fundraising, Community Organizing and Coalition Building * Budget Development and Analysis * Experience Providing Strategic Solutions to Complex Social Issues * Deliver Innovative Solutions that Deploy and Deliver Top Performance * Managed Domestic & International Projects (US, Middle East, Africa & Europe) * Excellent written and oral communication skills Hayward’s experience in community service includes Development Director at Volunteers of America and the March of Dimes, as well as, Executive Director of the Washington State Tenants Union and Executive Director of the Central Area Motivation Program (CAMP). Hayward has successfully managed community based economic development projects in Alaska, Somalia, Djibouti, Iceland, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Dubai. NAACP spearheaded the drive to win passage of the major civil rights legislation of the era: the Civil Rights Act of 1957; the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Voter Rights Act of 1965; and the Fair Housing Act of 1968. |
